Interlock Sewing Machine:
Interlock sewing machine designed for knit material sewing. This machine used for seaming and hemming light to heavyweight fabrics. Most suitable for making components of Container Bags. In this article, we will know the consumption formula for an interlock sewing machine.
Consumption Formula for Interlock Sewing Machine:
Interlock = Overlock + Chain stitch.
Problem:
If there are 20 yds. Of Interlock sewing in a garment then how many meters of sewing threads are needed for Interlock sewing?
Solution:
We know, Interlock = Overlock + Chain stitch.
So we need to find out how many meters of threads are needed for both overlock sewing and chain stitch in 20 yds. (Given).
For Over lock sewing: 1yds. = 36 inch
Then, 20 yds. = 36 × 20
= 720 inch.
1″ needed = 15 thread
Then, 720″ needed
= 15 × 720 thread
= 1080 thread.
Need thread consumption = 1080/39.37
= 274.32 meter
For Chain stitches: 1 yds. = 36 inch
Then, 20 yds. = 36 × 20
= 720 inch.
1″ needed = 4.5 thread
Then, 720″ needed = 4.5 × 720 thread
= 3240 thread.
Need thread consumption = 3240/39.37
= 82.29 meter
We know, Interlock = Over lock + Chain stitch.
So, Interlock = 274.32 + 82.29
= 356.61 meter. (Ans.)
[Bar tack = 7″ per operation, Button hole = 7″ per operation, Button = 3″ per operation.]
