Sewing Thread Consumption of Jute Sacking Bag:
Normally five types of stitches are used in making a jute sacking bag.
- Hemming stitch
- Herakle stitch
- Overhead stitch
- Safety sewing
- Hand sewing
Above these five types, Hemming and Herakle are the most common two.
How to Calculate Sewing Thread Consumption in Sacking Jute Bag
Determining Sewing Thread Length:
The length of the sewing thread is determined by the following Equation,
Length of Sewing (Inch.) = Length of Sewing (Inch.) x Sewing factor x Ply Number
Mathematical Problems and Solutions:
Problem: In Making a sacking bag of 32’’ x 18’’, how much thread will be needed For making Herakle and mouth hemmed stitch at the top and bottom?
Solution:
The solution of the math will be divided into four sections, Such as
- Finding The Length of Herakle thread
- Determining the weight of this length of the thread of (1)
- Finding Length of Heming thread
- Determining the weight of this length of thread of (2)
(A) The Length of Herakle thread needed for Making a sacking bag of 32’’ x 18’’
= (Bag’s length + Bag’s width) x Sewing factor x Ply number for sewing thread
= (32 + 18 ) x 8 x 3 ply [as the thread of 8 ply]
= 50 x 8 x 3
= 1200 Inch.
= 1200 ÷ 36 yds.
= 33.33 yds.
(B) The Weight of sewing thread = Length of sewing thread (yds.) x { Yarn’s count(ply) ÷ 14400 }
= 33.33 x ( 8 ÷ 14400 )
= 0.0185 pounds.
= 0.296 Aounce. (ANS)
(C) Length of Hemming thread = Mouth’s length x 2 (Top & bottom) x Sewing factor x Ply Number
= 18 x 2 x 5.33 Single thread [As the Thread of 11 ply ]
= 191.88 Inch.
= 191.88 x 36
= 5.33
(D) The weight of hemming thread = Sewing thread’s length x (Count of sewing thread ÷ 14400)
= 5.33 x (11 ÷ 14400 )
= 0.0041 pounds
= 0.065 ounce
Now here the summation of all thread in need = B + D
= Herakle thread’s weight + Heming thread’s weight
= 0.296 + 0.065 Ounce
= 0.361 Ounce (ANS)
