Fabric consumption is very important to find out the number of fabrics required to produce garments. The main reason for this consumption is to bring an assumption over the cost of the garments. After getting all the measurements if we apply them into the following equation we will get fabric consumption of that particular part per dozen. In this article polo shirt fabric consumption calculation will be disscussed.
Fabric Consumption Calculation for Polo Shirt
The equation is Cloth per Dozen (CPD) = (L × W × GSM × 12) / 107
Where,
L= Length of the part,
W = Width of the part,
GSM (Gram Per Square Meter) = 220
Fabric Consumption for different parts:
- Fabric consumption for body part.
- Fabric consumption for Sleeves.
- Fabric consumption for Collar.
- Fabric consumption for Cuff

Total fabric consumption:
Total fabric + 7% wastage
= 2.19 kg/dozen.
So, fabric consumption for 1 dozen polo shirts is 2.19 kg.
